“Fate: The Winx Saga” is not just any ordinary TV show for teenagers. While some may think it is, that’s far from the truth. It’s a live-action adaptation based on the popular “Winx Club” cartoon series that has been loved by fans for over 20 years. The Winx brand has become a worldwide sensation, with many spin-offs, dolls, merchandise, and more.
Fans were super excited when Netflix announced “Fate: The Winx Saga” as its own TV show. The first season premiered in 2021 and, even though some people didn’t like it, it became the most famous show on Netflix at that time. They decided to make a second season, but it took almost 2 years to release it. Surprisingly, Netflix didn’t promote the second season much, but it still became extremely popular and topped the Netflix charts again. This time, it received positive reviews, and fans said it was even better than the first season. The only issue fans had with the first season was that it was quite different from the cartoon, but overall, the show was amazing. It allowed people to escape from their reality and dive into a different world, much like the magic of Harry Potter. In the second season, the writers worked hard to make it more faithful to the original cartoon.
Additionally, the Winx brand released 2 new books and merchandise, adding to the excitement.
However, just when everyone was eagerly waiting for a third season, Netflix made a surprising decision and canceled the series. In this article, I will be talking about why it DESERVES a third season!

REASONS FOR WHY FATE NEEDS TO BE RENEWED:
Ended on a Cliffhanger
One of the most disappointing occurrences in a TV show is when it concludes with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers longing for resolution. Unfortunately, Season 2 of “Fate: The Winx Saga” fell victim to this frustrating trend. As the season approached its thrilling climax, multiple storylines were left hanging, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next installment. Among these unresolved plot points was Bloom’s perilous journey into the realm of darkness, where she finally reunited with her long-lost mother, or at least someone who may be her mother. What transpired next? Did Bloom delve deeper into her mysterious past? These unanswered questions regarding the show’s central storyline, which revolved around Bloom’s origins, left fans yearning for closure.

Furthermore, the quests undertaken by Stella to locate Beatrix’s sisters, the intricate dynamics between Aisha and Grey, Musa’s untapped powers, and Flora’s mysterious scar all remained tantalizingly unresolved. These narrative threads held tremendous potential for further exploration and character development. Fans were left to wonder about the fates of beloved characters, such as Bloom and Sky, and the highly anticipated romantic pairing of Riven and Musa (affectionately known as RIVUSA). The sheer amount of unresolved storylines left viewers hungry for answers and desperate for a continuation of the captivating narrative that had enthralled them.

However, despite the intense desire for further seasons to tie up loose ends, Netflix, in its characteristic fashion, chose to cancel the show. This decision blindsided fans, as “Fate: The Winx Saga” stood out as one of the few worthwhile offerings on the platform. It was a show that captivated audiences with its engaging storyline and well-crafted characters. The cancellation not only deprived fans of closure for the core storyline but also dashed hopes of resolution for any of the other compelling narrative arcs.
The abrupt termination of “Fate: The Winx Saga” left fans disheartened and disillusioned. They had invested their time and emotions into the show, only to be met with an unfinished tale. The fervent desire for a continuation of the series remains palpable, as fans yearn for the opportunity to see the captivating narrative reach its full potential. Sadly, the cancellation by Netflix has left an empty void, leaving fans to wonder what might have been and lamenting the loss of a truly enthralling show on the platform.

Response of Fans
Another reason for continuing this show is because of the fans, if after cancelling this show no one cared then it would have made sense for the show to be cancelled but THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.

How much more fans do you want Netflix?

Fans of “Fate: The Winx Saga” have expressed their disappointment and frustration as they witnessed the show’s cancellation without any substantial explanation or justification. With a passionate following, supporters of the series took to various social media platforms, flooding their accounts with pleas for the show’s continuation. Unfortunately, their dedicated efforts seemed to go unanswered, leaving many fans feeling unheard and disregarded.
The undeniable success of “Fate: The Winx Saga” cannot be overlooked. The show captivated audiences with its unique blend of supernatural elements, intricate storytelling, and visually stunning CGI. Its appeal stemmed from its ability to transport viewers into a world reminiscent of magical boarding schools like those found in the beloved Harry Potter series. This infusion of supernatural elements and the enchanting setting struck a chord with fans, who found solace and excitement in the show’s mystical narrative.
Netflix, the streaming platform behind the series, does have another supernatural TV show called “Wednesday” that shares a thematic connection with “Fate: The Winx Saga.” Both shows explore the realms of magic and mysticism, further illustrating the appetite viewers have for captivating and fantastical content. With “Fate: The Winx Saga” standing out as one of the few supernatural series utilizing CGI and centered around a magical boarding school, its cancellation feels like a missed opportunity to continue offering a unique and immersive experience to audiences.
The lack of a proper reason for the show’s cancellation has left fans disheartened. They had invested their time, passion, and support, making it all the more difficult to accept the abrupt end. As fans continue to rally behind “Fate: The Winx Saga,” their persistent dedication demonstrates the lasting impact the show had on their lives. They seek answers, closure, and the recognition that their unwavering support deserves.

Initial Plan
In a noteworthy revelation, it was announced that Abbey Cowen, along with the other cast members, had committed to a contractual agreement spanning multiple seasons for “Fate: The Winx Saga.” Abbey Cowen, the talented actress portraying the lead character Bloom, committed to a remarkable five-season contract, while the remaining cast members entered into agreements for three seasons. The inclusion of such contractual arrangements indicated a promising future for the show and provided a foundation for the development of a cohesive and compelling storyline.
While it is true that the contractual commitments did not guarantee a definitive five-season run, the fact that the entire cast had committed to at least three seasons created a sense of anticipation and possibility. Fans, aware of these contractual obligations, naturally assumed that the creators would have the opportunity to conclude the narrative in a satisfying manner within the scope of a third season. With the cast securely tied to the project, hopes were high for a final season that would bring closure to the storylines, resolve lingering questions, and provide a fitting culmination for the beloved characters.

Given the cast’s commitment and the potential for a captivating storyline to unfold, the decision not to pursue a third season leaves fans perplexed. The investment made in securing the cast for three seasons raises questions about why the opportunity to conclude the narrative in a final season was not realized. This unforeseen turn of events has left fans yearning for answers and seeking a resolution to the unresolved storylines that have captured their hearts.
Despite the contractual commitments, the intricate nature of the television industry and the complexities surrounding decision-making can often result in unforeseen changes and outcomes. While fans may lament the absence of a definitive third season, it is important to acknowledge the creative and business considerations that may have influenced the final decision. Nevertheless, the lingering desire for closure and a proper farewell to the characters and their journeys remains a heartfelt sentiment among fans of “Fate: The Winx Saga.”

Why it is such an important show?
As previously mentioned, “Fate: The Winx Saga” unfolds within the enchanting confines of a magical boarding school—an extraordinary backdrop that captures the imagination. Remarkably, such narratives set in captivating institutions of sorcery and wonder are a rarity within the realm of television. To immerse viewers in a world brimming with limitless possibilities and to transport them to a realm teeming with magic and mystery is a feat worthy of commendation. The show’s ability to conjure a sense of wonder and ignite the imagination of its audience is truly something special.

As a fantasy show, the allure lies in the boundless potential for storytelling, and the narrative need not be confined to a finite endpoint. The very nature of the genre beckons for further exploration, promising new adventures, revelations, and character growth. This show, with its richly imagined world and vibrant cast of characters, has become a cherished part of the entertainment landscape. Its continued presence is not only desired but also necessary, as it offers a respite from the ordinary and ignites the yearning for more magical tales.
In a world craving escapism and seeking refuge from the monotony of everyday life, “Fate: The Winx Saga” stands as a beacon of enchantment, providing a resplendent tapestry of fantasy and wonder. This generation, hungry for narratives that whisk them away to realms of magic and possibility, deserves the continuation of this captivating saga. The show has successfully carved a niche for itself, capturing the hearts and minds of viewers who yearn for the chance to lose themselves in a realm where dreams come alive and where the extraordinary becomes the norm. As such, the call for more seasons of this enthralling series resounds within the hearts of fans, who eagerly anticipate the chance to once again be transported to this mesmerizing world and embark on new and thrilling journeys alongside beloved characters.
it def deserves a season 3!
ReplyDeleteyes!
Deletewhy netflix always cancels the show that have potential
ReplyDeleteExactly! they start such a good show and just when it gets popular and people want more of it, they cancel it
DeleteWell said WE NEED SEASON 3
ReplyDeletePlz give us season 3 and proper ending
ReplyDeleteI hate Netflix for cancelling fate Winx saga
ReplyDeletesame!
Deletewhy is whitewhasing not mentioned?
ReplyDeleteThat was a issue of season 1 and they addressed that already and improved in season 2 by introducing a Latina (Flora) and an Asian character (Grey), the biggest matter was casting of Musa but they couldn't fire the actress now, so this was all they could do.
DeleteThey could have revealed Elisha as Darcy or Tecna, there were options, but they didn't want to. So yes, it could have been fixed without firing Elisha.
DeleteI forgot to say that months ago an account that criticized the casting manager was blocked by the casting manager. They didn't care.
Deletewhat are you taking about? you wanted them to somehow not make Elisha Musa even after the first season was released? that would have been awful and weird, no one wanted that.
Delete"The only issue fans had with the first season was that it was quite different from the cartoon" Flora and Musa's whitewhassing caused many Winx Club fans to legitimately criticize the series. "It's just that Flora fixed it..." Musa's was still in the second, and there were many ways to fix it. The controversies of the series surely make no company want to make a third season... Maybe it was also because it turned a colorful and bright world into a dark and edgy world that tried to emulate the success of Riverdale, but in a bad way.
ReplyDeleteI understand that you like the series, but do not try to ignore the valid reasons for criticizing the series, the whitewhasing.
Netflix was not responsible, Brian Young was also responsible, who with some decisions led the series to cancellation (the Trix and Tecna should have been there from the beginning). I think if Brian Young doesn't do anything to save the series it's because he knows he made a lot of mistakes.
One reason for the cancellation is surely the low completion rate (Netflix's TOP only counts the hours viewed, that is, if you put a few minutes the series counts for the TOP). Also, if the first season was widely watched it was because of the hatewatch
Let's not blame Netflix so much, when the decisions that were made were also responsible for the cancellation.
season 2 was extremely popular, not as much as season 1 which was also because of the fact that netflix literally did no promotion for it, they just released a trailer that's all, i saw so many people later on insta and twitter who loved season 1 and had no idea that the show had a second season, and yes the white washing was awful but as i said before, they tried to fix it, and fans appreciated that, season 2 had so much more love from fans as compared to season 1, it was much more similar to Winx Club as well. I understand everything you said ofcourse but honestly i dont see these as valid reasons for cancellation of the show, all reasons you gave would have been valid if show was cancelled after season 1 but it wasn't and the show improved so much in season 2, it deserved better, they did a good job addressing all the issues and fixing it and they were making it better and better and fans were loving it when netflix just out of the blue cancelled it. and the dark vibes were more inspired from Harry Potter then Riverdale and it makes sense cause Winx Club itself was inspired from Harry potter as well but it was a cartoon so was given colorful vibes, a live action always would have been darker, winx was never just a kids or little girls show, it always was much more then that
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, the second season was already renewed before the premiere of the first. And even trying to correct it, they are still valid criticisms. No, they did not address all the problems, Musa's and the fashion continued. It is very noticeable that you do not criticize Musa's whitewhasing for a ship. So do not say that everything is fixed, when it is not. And if there is a third, and there is a recast, I doubt very much that many of you will accept this.
DeleteAlso, the second season was not popular. Being in the TOP does not mean that a program is popular. It was not even in position 1 in the TOP (in the United States it was in fourth position, perhaps this also led to the cancellation). In addition, there was not much talk about her on social networks, only the first week, but it never went any further.
I already told you, they didn't cancel without reason. The completion rate may have been the reason. The completion rate measures how many people finish a program. And that data is never displayed. In addition to the budget for the third and that it was not a profitable series.
About the promotion... neither did Rainbow promote the show when they could have (the first teaser on July 27th was not even uploaded to the official account), and they did very little to promote it.
